March 19, 2026

EDA, together with its partners – the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Banja Luka, the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska, the Banja Luka Innovation Center, and the Development Agency of the Republic of Srpska – has begun implementing the DESET project (Digitally Enabled Sustainable Energy Transition of Manufacturing SMEs).

The DESET project is being implemented with financial support from the European Union and the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMZ) under the EU Private Sector Development initiative – EU4PSD. EU4PSD is part of the broader GIZ SEDEP program, which is also co-financed by the Swiss Government.

The aim of the DESET project is to promote the energy transition and digital transformation of export-oriented manufacturing SMEs in Bosnia and Herzegovina, creating a more resilient, innovative, and sustainable industrial ecosystem.

Over the next 18 months, the project will include:

  • Supporting companies in developing and implementing energy transition strategies through energy audits and the use of digital tools to monitor energy consumption;
  • Developing new business services and tools to support energy efficiency and digitalization;
  • Training consultants and auditors in the application of standards;
  • Establishing a functional network for knowledge exchange between SMEs and service providers;
  • Promoting best practice examples through communication activities and a final conference.
