Which AI tools do SMEs in BiH use the most, where do they see the greatest potential, and what obstacles are still slowing them down? Answers come from the new study “Business Needs for Artificial Intelligence Tools,” conducted within the AI FORWARD project.
The research was carried out by the Innovation Center Banja Luka and Bloomteq (Ilyria Tech Group Sarajevo) between August 21 and September 9, 2025, with a total of 121 participants from various sectors of small and medium-sized enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina responding to the survey. The survey aimed to identify the current level of knowledge, readiness, and needs for AI tool adoption, as well as to specify areas where artificial intelligence can provide the greatest impact, such as increasing productivity, competitiveness, and innovation.
The results provide valuable insights into the current market situation – from perceptions and knowledge of modern technologies, to the most sought-after types of support, and concrete recommendations for next steps. The publication is intended for SMEs, organizations that provide business support, and policymakers focused on developing an innovative and competitive private sector in BiH.
