Partner for the Green Transition: New Chamber Service Helps Businesses Build a Sustainable Future

June 1, 2026

Through digital and green transformation, domestic companies are responding to growing market demands and strengthening their competitiveness.

When discussing the green transition, the first question most small and medium-sized enterprises ask is: where do we start? The answer to that question is precisely the new service of the Chamber of Commerce of Republika Srpska, “Partner for the Green Transition”, developed within the project “Digitally Sustainable Green Transition of SMEs in Republika Srpska – DiGreenSMEs.” The initiative aims to provide domestic companies with practical, expert, and long-term sustainable support in the process of green and digital business transformation.

One of the companies participating in the programme is Dineco d.o.o. from Trebinje, which sees an opportunity to optimize costs and improve occupational safety through digitalization.

“We are particularly interested in activities focused on digitalization and reducing the environmental impact of our operations. We plan to implement a software solution that will accelerate processes and reduce operating costs in the long term,” says Milica Nosović, Sales Manager of the company.

A similar challenge has been identified by Colorit d.o.o. from Banja Luka, where the company faces growing regulatory and technical requirements.

“A large amount of data is currently managed through separate databases, which makes analysis and process management more difficult. We expect the programme to help us centralize data, reduce manual administration, and enable more efficient monitoring of ESG indicators,” explains Irena Havreljuk, Quality Control and Development Manager.

These examples demonstrate that the green transition is not only a response to regulatory requirements but also an opportunity to improve business performance through digitalization, more efficient resource management, and better-organized work processes. An additional eight companies from various sectors are undergoing the same process, with each receiving a green transition roadmap and concrete implementation projects that include defined investments and performance indicators.

To support this process, the Chamber is also developing a network of trained consultants for green and digital transition, thereby strengthening the local business support system in the long term. Their role is to assist companies in conducting analyses, identifying measures, and preparing projects, ensuring that the transition is structured, measurable, and sustainable.

As Brankica Gegić, Green Transition Consultant, points out:

“The green transition is not merely a technical process; it is a strategic transformation of the business model and organizational culture. Our task is to help companies identify opportunities for energy efficiency and circular solutions and translate them into concrete projects.”
