The Digital Innovation Hub IDEMO invites representatives of companies interested in digitalizing production processes, as well as representatives of institutions and organizations that support SMEs, to the workshop “Trends in Industry with a Focus on Automation and the Application of Information Technologies and Artificial Intelligence in Today’s Industry,” which will be held on February 19, 2024, starting at 10:00 a.m. at the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska, Branka Ćopića Street 6, Banja Luka.
This workshop provides a unique opportunity to learn about the latest industry developments, exchange experiences, and network with relevant participants in the field of production process digitalization. Through the presentation of concrete case studies by Prima ISG Gradiška, participants will gain insight into the practical application of cutting-edge technologies.
Key topics to be covered at the workshop include:
- Historical development of industry:
Industry 1.0 – 5.0 evolution - Industry trends (focus on automation and the application of information technologies and artificial intelligence in today’s industry)
- Case studies: Prima ISG Gradiška
- Automation – Modernization of the sponge block cutting machine in upholstered furniture production
- Automation of quality control of finished products based on a web platform and portable devices
- Questions and Answers
Our lecturers are experts in these fields with extensive experience in implementing technologies in real business scenarios. In addition to the lecturers, representatives of Prima ISG Gradiška will actively participate in discussions to share their experiences both as investors and as end-users.
The workshop will be led by Prof. Dr. Zoran Đurić, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Banja Luka, together with Prof. Dr. Miloš Ljubojević and Velibor Đalić, MA – Senior Assistant.

IDEMO is one of the supported Digital Innovation Hubs within the project “Innovation and Digitalization of Small and Medium Enterprises / EU4DigitalSME.” The IDEMO DIH is composed of the Banja Luka Innovation Center, the Development Agency of the Republic of Srpska, the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering Banja Luka, and the Enterprise Development Agency (EDA).
The goal of the IDEMO Digital Innovation Hub is to provide SMEs with expert support in the process of digital transformation.
The project is jointly funded by the European Union and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMZ) and aims to establish and support the development of Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ).
