Within the EU4DigitalSME project, DIH IDEMO successfully procured equipment for the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Banja Luka.
A virtualization platform was acquired, which was implemented in the form of a cluster with two nodes, that is, a server.
The existence of a shared storage system was necessary for the realization of such a platform. The storage system is available to all nodes of the cluster, which enabled the advanced functions of the virtualization platform. It was necessary to provide uninterrupted UPS power and a professional backup solution for up to 10 virtual machines. For the purposes of realizing the virtualization platform, it was necessary to acquire hardware equipment, as well as appropriate software for virtualization and back-up. Additional hardware equipment consists of a storage system of suitable capacity and two servers of suitable performance.
It is planned to create a protocol for the use of purchased equipment in the coming period.
The equipment procurement activity is organized within the EU4DigitalSME project, which is jointly financed by the European Union and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany (BMZ), aimed at establishing and supporting the development of digital innovation hubs (DIH) in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (GIZ).
